A Tribute to Kevin McCarthy (1914-2010)

Sadly, a personal favourite actor of mine, Kevin McCarthy, just passed away this weekend at the age of 96. A fellow fan put together this nice little selection of clips showcasing the highlights of his career. McCarthy had over 200 credits to his name and was a constantly working actor who was still making appearances in films well into his nineties. Of course, he is best known for his role in the 1956 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers and was a frequent cast member in the films of Joe Dante, with memorable turns in movies such as Piranha, The Howling and Innerspace. He is also well-known for playing the villain in the Weird Al Yankovic film, UHF, where he made “festering bowl of dog snot” into a classic phrase. In addition, he also delivers one of my all-time favourite evil laughs in that film:
