A Tribute to Kenneth Mars (1936-2011)

Sadly, renowned comic character actor Kenneth Mars has just passed away from pancreatic cancer at the age of 74. His career in film and television spanned over 40 years, but his main comedic speciality was playing buffoonish over-the-top foreign characters. Of course, he will always be best known for his work with Mel Brooks, delivering memorable performances as deranged Nazi playwright Franz Liebkind, the man responsible for “Springtime for Hitler” in The Producers, and deranged Police Inspector Hans Wilhelm Fredrich Kemp in Young Frankenstein, who sports a disjointed wooden arm and wears a monocole over his eyepatch! R.I.P.
