Before They Were Stars: Melissa Leo on “All My Children”

Before she was winning Academy Awards and dropping F-bombs on national television, Melissa Leo had to follow the path of fellow future Oscar nominees Julianne Moore and Marisa Tomei and get her feet wet in the world of soap operas. Her major acting break was as a contract cast member on numerous episodes of All My Children in 1984 and 1985, which actually earned her a Daytime Emmy nomination. Just a hunch, but I suspect the other actor in this scene has never been nominated for an Academy Award.
