Before They Were Stars: Chris Pratt in “Cursed Part 3”

If there’s one person you can thank for the immense success Chris Pratt is enjoying right now, it would probably be popular 1980s actress Rae Dawn Chong, best known for playing Arnold Schwarzenegger’s sidekick in Commando. Over 15 years ago, Chong discovered Pratt working as a waiter at a Bubba Gump Shrimp Company restaurant in Hawaii and decided to cast him in a short film she was directing called Cursed Part 3 (no relation to the awful Wes Craven werewolf movie). The short’s trailer (apparently posted on Youtube by Rae Dawn Chong herself) gives the impression that this a Blair Witch Project-style parody about a group of filmmakers running into trouble while trying to make a horror flick in the woods. On the basis of Chris Pratt’s blonde hairdo here, you’d never guess this guy would eventually become of the biggest stars in Hollywood.
