The recent success of Jurassic World has made me think back to the career trajectory of Wayne Knight, who found fame after taking on the roles of Newman on Seinfeld and Dennis Nedry in Jurassic Park during the same time period. Knight’s first credited screen role came in 1985 when he appeared in an obscure comedy called The Sex O’Clock News, which was basically a Kentucky Fried Movie-style spoof consisting of a series of sketches. And like most Kentucky Fried Movie imitators, The Sex O’Clock News was pretty terrible, as perfectly demonstrated by this scene where Knight delivers a public service announcement about having sex with chickens.
