Dominic Monaghan is an actor whose fame has skyrocketed over the last decade. According to Wikipedia, Monaghan always wanted to be an actor, acting in numerous plays in his younger years with the Manchester Youth Theatre. It was his work there that landed him a role in the TV series Hetty Wainthropp Investigates and his movie debut role in the made-for-TV film Hostile Waters. In 2001, he was cast as Meriadoc Brandybuck in Peter Jackson’s adaptation of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, sealing his fate as a star. He also became a regular cast member on the TV series Lost, gaining even more acclaim along the way. He’s also played parts in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and the TV show FlashForward, and will star in the upcoming vampire film Blood in 2012. Dominic Monaghan turns 35 today.
