It was Christopher Walken’s birthday the other day and I’ve been wanting to do a “Before They Were Stars” feature on him for a LONG time, especially since he started his acting career when he was just a kid during the Golden Age of Television. Anyway, I’ve yet to find any of the really early and obscure Walken footage from the 1950s (back when he was still acting under his real name, Ronnie Walken), but I did uncover this clip of him when he was 26 and guest-starred as a naval officer on a 1970 episode of Hawaii Five-O. It’s so weird seeing Christopher Walken when he was just your average, ordinary, nondescript actor who spoke in a normal tone of voice and didn’t sound like… well, Christopher Walken!
