Celebrity Birthday of the Day – April 1

Asa Butterfield hasn’t been acting for long, but he’s already starred in an Academy Award-winning movie! Butterfield began acting at the age of seven, going to the Young Actors Theatre in Islington, London after school. In 2006, he got his first television role in the TV movie After Thomas, and in 2007 he played a secondary role in the film Son of Rambow. The following year, Butterfield appeared in an episode of Ashes to Ashes, and got his first major starring film role in The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. Since then, his fame has only increased, as he has been playing increasingly large roles in prominent motion pictures, such as The Wolfman, Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang, and, most recently, Hugo. He also played Mordred on several episodes of The Adventures of Merlin, and is set to play Ender Wiggin in the upcoming adaptation of Ender’s Game. Asa Butterfield turns 15 today.
