Stoker Looks Suitably Chilling

After India’s father dies in an auto accident, her Uncle Charlie, who she never knew existed, comes to live with her and her emotionally unstable mother Evelyn. Soon after his arrival, she comes to suspect this mysterious, charming man has ulterior motives, but instead of feeling outrage or horror, this friendless girl becomes increasingly infatuated with him.

I really need to see more of Park Chan-Wook’s films, because I was blown away by Oldboy but unimpressed with Thirst, and that’s where my knowledge of his work begins and ends. Stoker, his first English language movie, looks to be pretty incredible, and unlike your typical creepy uncle serial killer story. Will it be closer to Oldboy or Thirst in my eyes? Time will tell.

Stoker comes out March 1, 2013.
