It’s two of TBR’s favourite things combined, as HAWP (Hey Ash Whatcha Playin’) and Freddie Wong team up to demo the benefits and, uh, downsides of Donkey Kong‘s rocket barrel transportation system. I think this could seriously be the future of public transit, guys.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted some Freddie Wong! Here’s a great little short from Rocket Jump that perfectly demonstrates the frustrations inherent in playing first-person shooters on mobile devices. Ugh. So annoying.

The hit webseries from Freddie Wong and company has returned with a new season! Video Game High School follows the exploits of young BrianD as he is accepted into the hardcore gaming school VGHS. Will BrianD be able to win Jenny Matrix’s heart? Will he continue to show school bully The Law who is boss? And will his friend Ted finally realize his dream of becoming a drifting race gamer instead of a rhythm gamer? I recommend checking out first season before you watch this…

Brandon (of Node and the Freddie Wong team) has finally made a sequel to one of his most popular videos: First Person Mario! In First Person Mario: Endgame, we get a look at what the final level of an FPS Mario game might look like, and man does it ever look cool. I only wish Nintendo wasn’t afraid to go this route and turn Mario into something dark, rainy and gritty. And look at those graphics!

It has been far too long since I posted some Freddie Wong stuff on TBR! Here’s a wicked new short made by Freddie and Brandon that sees modern video game characters like Master Chief and Nathan Drake take on classic video game characters like, uh, the Pong paddle and the Lunar Lander. To me, this is video short perfection. And there’s no school like the old school.

Take it from me: you should be watching Freddie Wong’s new webseries Video Game High School!  When it comes to awesome online entertainment, Freddie Wong always delivers the goods, and this series is nothing short of amazing. Great action, great effects, enjoyable characters, and it’s the length of a TV show season, too! What more could you want?

Freddie Wong meets the world’s worst superhero in his latest video – though I might debate that someone like Captain Incontinence or Lady Halitosis could be considered even worse. In the video below, he quests for the mythical Mario fire flower…with somewhat disastrous results.

It’s no secret that we here at TBR love Freddie Wong’s videos, but this? This is a masterpiece. Brilliantly executed, and all based around a pun so obvious that it’s a wonder no one’s thought to do this before now. Seriously, I’m floored by how well put-together this video is. Freddie’s really outdone himself this time.

Freddie Wong returns to the video that made him famous in this prequel to Flower Warfare, done through a grindhouse lens! I love the inclusion of a talking murale and a horse mask – and hey, now there’s a Flower Warfare video game!

Let’s face it: depicting video games, especially pixellated ones, in real life is all the rage right now. Heck, Freddie Wong has basically built a career on it…but that doesn’t mean he’s the only one who can pull it off with style! Andrew McMurry created this terrific video using Cinema 4D that’s loaded full of retro charms, as well as a bunch of classic video game enemies. A tip of the hat to Mr. McMurry for his work!
