Celebrity Birthday of the Day – August 17

I chose Sean Penn today because I love him. I think he is fabulous in every role he chooses. It brought me to tears to see him FINALLY win a Best Actor Oscar for Mystic River after losing out for both Dead Man Walking and I Am Sam, both of which definitely deserved an Oscar. I love how good he is at playing tough guys, since in real life he just looks like he could kick the ever-loving shit out of you if you crossed him the wrong way. But on the other hand, he was so innocent and lovable in I Am Sam, it was hard to believe it was the same man. The same goes for Milk, which brought him a second Best Actor Oscar. And lest we forget Fast Times at Ridgemont High? He is one of the most versatile actors out there and I will continue watching him for many more years!
