A Woman, a Gun, and a Noodle Shop

Now here’s something I did NOT see coming! Academy Award-winning director Zhang Yimou, best known for his epic martial arts ballets Hero and The House of Flying Daggers, has remade (or reimagined) the Coen brothers first film Blood Simple into a sort of early-1900’s Chinese spaghetti western! I think this looks absolutely incredible and I can’t wait to see it. Who knew that filtering the Coens through the mind of Zhang Yimou would yield such intriguing results!
