This rather nightmare-inducing prostethetic arm dates back to somewhere between 1850 and 1910, and was most likely worn due to a war-related amputation. Made from steel and brass, and featuring multiple points of articulation in the elbow, wrist and fingers, this is a pretty advanced artificial arm considering the time in which is was created! ScienceMuseum.org has a few other pictures of this creepy-yet-fascinating limb!
