Sunday Short Reviews

Every Sunday, Gill delves into his archive of over 800 movie reviews and randomly selects three for your enjoyment! Here are this week’s…

Where The Buffalo Roam
A nice attempt at capturing the legend of Hunter Thompson on film. Bill Murray gives a good depiction of the famous Gonzo journalist in this fictionalized interpretation of actual events. A treat for Thompson fans, and a prime example of just how much of a cultural icon the manic, insane writer really was.

Halloween (2007)
An unnecessary remake of a classic landmark slasher film that helped create the image of the invincible serial killer. The added scenes that fill in Michael Myers’ backstory only serve to destroy the stealthy phantom slasher’s mystique by turning him into a heavy-breathing, shambling redneck.

Romeo Must Die
The worst thing you can do to Jet Li is use special effects to enhance his already stellar martial arts moves. This movie actually manages to make Jet Li lame.
