Celebrity Birthday of the Day – October 1

Richard Harris was, in my opinion, the absolute perfect choice to play Albus Dumbledore in the first two Harry Potter films. It was so tragic that he died before the third film was made, and thus the role was turned over to Michael Gambon. I really missed Richard Harris in the third movie, but Gambon has since grown on me. It is hard to imagine Richard Harris performing some of the physical tasks that Dumbledore was forced to tackle in the later movies. But I will always be grateful to be able to watch him in The Philosopher’s Stone and The Chamber of Secrets. There was just something magical about him; a twinkle in his eye that Dumbledore had in the novels. At least we are lucky enough to have his performances eternally saved in those two movies.
