Before They Were Stars (2-for-1 Special): Elisabeth Shue and Andrew McCarthy in a Burger King Commercial

In tribute to the birthday girl, I wanted to showcase one of the many Burger King commercials that Elisabeth Shue did in her early years before she hit it big in The Karate Kid. I wound up finding one that happened to feature both her and an unknown Andrew McCarthy! Kudos to the casting director for striking gold on this one since both of them would wind up becoming two of the more popular teen stars of the eighties within a year of this commercial being filmed. I certainly wouldn’t mind seeing Elisabeth Shue as the spokesperson for Burger King today instead of the guy in the creepy plastic mask!
