I used to play Warhammer 40,000 once upon a time, but I was never too keen on the Ultramarines. They seemed to me the most generic sci-fi element of the game (I played the orcs), but I did think their armour looked pretty cool, and that they would probably kick ass in their own movie. Well, that movie is here, long after I gave up playing Warhammer, and y’know, it looks alright. A lot of work obviously went into this animated movie, and the having the voices of Terence Stamp and John Hurt among the cast doesn’t hurt at all. I’ll probably watch this eventually. I won’t be rushing out to buy it on its first day of release, though.
On a side note, I love that the people who made this know that nobody besides Warhammer 40,000 fans will buy it, to the point where they tell you who they’re catering to right there in the trailer.
