You don’t have to be a wrestling fan to know who Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is, as he’s one of the lucky few who’s made the successful transition from pro wrestler to full-fledged movie star. However, even the biggest wrestling stars have started out by fine-tuning their persona until they found a character that worked. When Dwayne Johnson first broke into the wrestling business, he started out in the World Wrestling Federation’s developmental territory in Memphis and went by the name of “Flex Kavana”! Despite the idiotic name, this interview from very early in his career showed that the guy already had boatloads of natural charisma and was bound for great things. However, his tag team partner here, Bart Sawyer, was not bound for great things, and I get the feeling he may have been partaking in a little too much of the white stuff before he did this interview. Needless to say, I have to wonder how Dwayne Johnson’s movie career might have gone if the poster had read: “Flex Kavana as The Scorpion King“.
