Last week saw me totally blown away by the wicked-cool trailer for Jon Favreau’s next movie Cowboys & Aliens. This week sees me rewatching the trailer with director commentary, as MTV News caught up with Favreau and requested that he give us some insight into what we’re seeing in the preview. It’s a good watch, but then, I love directors’ commentaries in the first place. I think he really nails it, though, when he says that if you’re combining two genres and you play either one of them tongue-in-cheek, the combination of them won’t be anything special. Damn right! It’s the fact that they’re playing this premise straight that makes it so awesome in my eyes.
