Before They Were Stars: Leslie Nielsen in “Tales of Tomorrow”

Come on, you knew I wasn’t going to pass up an opportunity to showcase an early role from the career of the late, great Leslie Nielsen. He was actually quite the busy actor when he started out in the early 1950s  as he literally appeared in dozens of different T.V. programs (many of which were performed live) throughout the “Golden Age of Television” before garnering his first major big screen role in Forbidden Planet. One of them was a low-budget (to put it mildly) anthology series called Tales of Tomorrow, which may be the first official science fiction show to ever air on broadcast teleivsion and was obviously an early influence on The Twilight Zone. In this episode, Nielsen plays a struggling writer who takes a job writing stories for a mysterious man, only to discover that all his stories *gasp* wind up coming true!
