From the Files of Police Squad!

It’s a little known fact that The Naked Gun films were actually based on a short-lived TV series called Police Squad!, which ran for only six episodes. Each episode featured a ridiculous epilogue wherein some final plot points were cleared up, but mostly these epilogues existed to give the writers more time to cram in some jokes – many of which were recycled when Police Squad! became The Naked Gun. Each epilogue ended with the characters freezing in place, but without the help of the pause button, which made things even more ridiculous as the actors’ faces began to hurt and they let their expressions drop. Since we’re paying tribute to the late, great Leslie Nielsen today, I figured that these awesome little epilogues deserved a spot on the Back Row.
