A full trailer for the new Gore Verbinski/Johnny Depp collaboration – an animated movie about an iguana named Rango – has appeared online and it looks…pretty good, I suppose. I’m getting a serious An American Tail: Fievel Goes West vibe off of this, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Now, if I had only seen this trailer, I probably wouldn’t be all that interested in the movie. Sure, they’re apparently using special motion capture technology to translate Johnny Depp’s expressions onto the face of an animated iguana, which is pretty cool and all, but the plot just seems like it’s been done before, and this version of it doesn’t really add anything new to the mix except for Depp’s voice. But regardless of this trailer, the thing that has me really intrigued about Rango is this teaser that was released ages ago and still defies explanation.
