Filler Link: Minnesota Death Star

I find it funny that this shot, made on someone’s home computer, looks better than most of the spaceship flying sequences in the Star Wars prequel movies. I attribute this entirely to the fact that it blends live, practical effects with CGI, and as a result, it feels real. The prequel trilogy, however, was just a bunch of CGI, with no models or real backdrops, and the result is that I ultimately prefer this little viral video to most of the 6 or so hours that George Lucas drained out of my life with his terrible new trilogy.
