Before They Were Stars: Ricky Gervais Sings in a 1980s British New Wave Music Video

Ricky Gervais’ first foray into the entertainment world came in 1982 when he and his friend, Bill Macrae, decided to form a British New Wave pop duo called Seona Dancing. The duo released two singles, which achieved so much popularity that Seona Dancing wound up splitting up in 1984! Anyway, here you can see a virtually recognizable 21-year old Ricky Gervais looking like a complete David Bowie wannabe, as he sings in the music video for the Seona Dancing song, “Bitter Heart”, which was apparently filmed for about 400 pounds in a parking garage. Could we please have a Seona Dancing reunion at next year’s Golden Globes?
