In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Nathan Fillion said “If I got $300 million from the California Lottery, the first thing I would do is buy the rights to Firefly, make it on my own, and distribute it on the Internet.” Of course, since us Browncoats would love nothing more than to see a second season of Firefly, some enterprising individuals set up a website spearheading a fundraiser to get Captain Mal his money. That’s right: people are actually raising money online to resurrect Firefly, which is such a good idea that I’m amazed no one thought of it sooner. According to the math, if a million fans donate $40 each, it should be enough money to get the show back in the form that Fillion described. Well, what are you waiting for? Go to HelpNathanBuyFirefly and pledge a few bucks! And be sure to spread the word around! For there is no nerdier good cause than bringing back the adventures of Serenity and its crew.
