I’m sure many of you probably remember these ultra-cheesy Mentos commercials from the 1990s that always ended with a freeze frame of somebody flashing a pack of Mentos to the camera with a very dorky smile on their face. Well, somebody came up with the hilarious idea of playing the Mentos theme music over scenes from violent action and horror movies and turning them into commercials that, of course, end with a cheesy freeze frame. The idea pretty much took off like crazy and you can find tons of Mentos parodies on Youtube for such films as Saw, Scarface, Hard Target, Evil Dead 2, The Silence of the Lambs and even the mirror dancing scene in Troll 2. My two personal favourite Mentos commercials are probably these ones for American Psycho and Death Wish II.
