Real Fear in Real Time

Here’s something that needs to be seen to be believed! The Silent House is a horror film from first-time Uruguayan filmmaker Gustavo Hernández that is apparently shot entirely in one take! While the trailer seems to imply that the film will contain only the most generic of haunted house scares, the fact that it’s all in one take is just too intriguing for me to pass up. Here’s a plot summary:

The plot of La Casa Muda is based on a true story that happened in the late 1940’s in a village in Uruguay. It focuses on Laura – who intends to leave a house which hides a secret, unharmed. Laura and her father Wilson settle down in a cottage they have to renew since its owner will soon sell it. Everything seems to go smoothly until Laura hears a sound coming from outside that gets louder and louder on the upstairs floor.

No word yet as to when (if ever) this is coming to North American cinemas.
