A Tribute to Sidney Lumet (1924-2011)

The film world lost one of its all-time greatest directors today when Sidney Lumet passed away from lymphoma at the age of 86. Lumet had one of the longest and most profilic careers of any film director and throughout the course of fifty years, he gave us some all-time classics including 12 Angry Men, Serpico, Dog Day Afternoon and Network. He was a personal favourite director of mine and I shall be examining his career in greater detail when I post up a column of my “Top Ten Favourite Sidney Lumet Films” sometime later this week. For now, here is a ten-minute clip showcasing a few scenes from some of his greatest works.
