Holy crap! Ever since the first teaser appeared online, I’ve been pretty excited for Cowboys & Aliens, but this new trailer has completely blown me away! Director Jon Favreau wasn’t kidding when he said that he was playing both the Western genre elements and the alien invasion genre elements completely straight; if you were to split Cowboys & Aliens into a cowboy movie and an alien movie, I’d gladly watch either. But man, seeing them combined like this…I…words fail me. I’m blown away by how ridiculously cool this looks. And hey, Sam Rockwell is in it! Talk about a bonus! Sorry if I’m gushing too much. I’ve gotta go watch this again.
Cowboys & Aliens comes out July 29, 2011 – officially one of my most anticipated days of the year.
