It’s A Puppet! I Mean – TRAP!

This is the kind of behind-the-scenes Star Wars stuff that I love. Before George Lucas went bonkers with CGI, there were old school rubber puppets and animatronics that did the special effects work, and even if they looked a little cheesy at times, they felt so much more real than computer-generated creations, and operating them was always more interesting to watch than a guy sitting in front of a computer. Just look at Admiral Ackbar, shown here saying “Penetrate it! Penetrate it!”, and try to tell me that Jar-Jar looks more realistic. Go on. I dare you.
