Before They Were Stars: Viggo Mortensen in “Witness”

Viggo Mortensen got a pretty bad break at the start of his career when he acted in Woody Allen’s The Purple Rose of Cairo, but wound up having all his scenes left on the cutting room floor. However, Viggo had much better luck the second time around when he landed a part in the acclaimed Harrison Ford Amish cop thriller, Witness. He plays Alexander Godunov’s younger Amish brother and even though he’s in quite a few scenes, his role mostly consists of being a background player, so it’s fairly easy not to notice him. Thankfully, this clip has been edited together to showcase all his appearances in the film.
