Today we have another female comedy writer, like yesterday’s Tina Fey. Nora Ephron has written such films as Sleepless in Seattle, You’ve Got Mail, Michael, When Harry Met Sally, Mixed Nuts, and Julie & Julia. In that list, you might be tempted to say that she mainly writes romantic comedies. I, however, feel that is an inappropriate label. I think it is more suitable to say she writes comedy movies about love. Her screenplays don’t fall into the rom-com category because they have a lot more heart than most rom-coms these days.
