If I don’t get some shelter, oh yeah, I’m gonna fade away. Michael Shannon is one of the best things about Boardwalk Empire, so it’s great to see him starting to get more recognition on the big screen as well. This trailer is for his upcoming film Take Shelter, which looks both chilling and really well-shot. Here’s a plot summary:
Plagued by a series of apocalyptic visions, a young husband and father (Michael Shannon) living in rural Ohio questions whether to shelter his family from a coming storm, or just from himself and his delusions.
Sounds cool to me! And hey, it even co-stars another Boardwalk Empire castmember: Shea Whigham! This movie has all the potential to be great. I just hope it doesn’t go all Shyamalan on us instead!
Take Shelter comes out in limited release on October 7, 2011.
