3D printing is taking the world by storm, and with good reason: it’s freaking AMAZING! It’s only a few steps away from Star Trek‘s matter replicator, and between 3D printers and iPads, I’d say we’re finally living in the future, folks! Anyway, with 3D printers becoming so popular, all sorts of interesting online projects are starting to appear. In the video above, artist Dolf of Macuono explains his 3D printed life forms called Entoforms, designed using Blender (an open source 3D-animation program) and python script, packaged as scientific specimens. The fossils of the future!
As if that wasn’t cool enough, Webmaster Mike discovered an entire 3D printing artistic community online called Shapeways. It’s like Etsy, if Etsy provided its own materials…and 3D printers. Man, people can sure make some awesome 3D-printed dice! Click here to pay a visit!
But the surest sign of the impending 3D printer world takeover is this photo of a 3D printer printing a 3D printer. Yikes!
