The Spider-Man Musical Has Actually Opened

That’s right, only 199 days after the first disastrous preview performance, Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark opened yesterday. Is anyone even interested in it anymore? I suppose time will tell. But let me tell you: any stage production that has suffered as many injuries, awful reviews and directorial changes as Turn Off The Dark (yeah, I know, only one directorial change, but it was a big one) doesn’t strike me as having a very long shelf life. But with the revamping and reopening come more promo clips to give us a peek at the car-accident-turned-stageplay. In the one above, which I couldn’t actually make it all the way through without getting bored, you can get a pretty good sense of what the musical looks like. Skip to 2:30 if you want to see Green Goblin singing with a multitude of villains, but I don’t recommend looking very hard at the Lizard, because he looks like a sports mascot. Below you can see Sesame Street getting in on the mockery with Grover performing in a similar musical…

That Bono Muppet is hilarious.
