To celebrate Vincent D’Onofrio’s birthday today, here is a glimpse of his debut performance, which occurred in a place where talented, successful actors generally aren’t found: a Troma film! The First Turn-On!! is a raunchy teenage sex comedy co-directed by Troma founders Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz, which features D’Onofrio as a brainless psycho named Lobotomy. This doesn’t seem to be a case of a good actor showing signs of talent in a bad film and rising above the material; by all accounts, Vincent’s performance here is just plain bad! However, his career did recover quite nicely and you can catch an hilarious glimpse of him trying to cut up a girl with a chainsaw at the 0:45 mark of this trailer.
