Before They Were Stars: Sandra Oh as an Extra in “Degrassi High: School’s Out”

I’ve done quite a few “Before They Were Stars” features on actors and actresses who got jobs as extras early on in their career, but I think today’s birthday girl, Sandra Oh, might have set a new record for briefest appearance. In 1992, a made-for-TV movie called Degrassi High: School’s Out was produced which was intended as a final wrap-up for the TV series (at least until Degrassi: The Next Generation came along). At the 0:55 mark of this clip, you’ll briefly see Sandra as a waitress walking out of the kitchen. Total screen time: literally one whole second!
