Celebrity Birthday of the Day – July 26

kubrick

No matter which way you slice it, Stanley Kubrick was a genius of a filmmaker. He operated across many different genres and succeeded in creating memorable films in each. Whether he was scaring the heck out of people with The Shining, making us laugh with Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, exploring space in 2001: A Space Odyssey, or getting R. Lee Ermey to berate us in a most amusing way with Full Metal Jacket, Kubricks films are always entertaining. His influence can be felt throughout cinema history since he first appeared on the scene in 1953, and he will be forever missed after he passed away in 1999 at the age of 70.
