Before They Were Stars: Naomi Watts in a Tampax Commercial

Not too long ago, I did a “Before They Were Stars” on Courteney Cox’s appearance in a Tampax commercial in 1985, where she made history by becoming the first person to utter the word “period” in reference to menstruation on national television. Well, one year later, 17-year old Naomi Watts would follow suit by making her acting debut in a Tampax commercial in her native Australia. I must say, since she uses a fake American accent in virtually everything she does these days, it’s quite jarring hearing her with such a thick Australian accent.
