Celebrity Birthday of the Day – September 3

I’ll admit that I’ve only seen three of French filmmaker Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s movies – Amelie, The City of Lost Children and Alien: Resurrection – but even so, I love this guy’s innovative visual style. In my opinion, his directorial panache was best exhibited in Amelie, but heck, even Alien: Resurrection had some pretty memorable shots, like one that follows a grenade as it’s thrown down a hallway, or another where the camera actually zooms down a guy’s throat to reveal the alien in his stomach! Jeunet first started making films at age 17, and he shows no signs of quitting anytime soon. Also, I hear his film MicMacs is awesome, so I will have to look into it. Jeunet turns 58 today.
