Toby Jones is an English character actor whose fame has been steadily growing since he first appeared in the film adaptation of Orlando in 1992. It wasn’t until a decade later, however, that he’d score one of the biggest roles of his career (so far) as the voice of Dobby the house elf in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Since then, he’s been playing increasingly higher profile roles, appearing in such films as Finding Neverland, Infamous, Frost/Nixon, Your Highness and Captain America: The First Avenger. There’s no sign of him slowing down, either, as he’s landed a role in the upcoming Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and the film adaptation of the first book of The Hunger Games series. But the Toby Jones role that I will always hold above all is as Ollie in The Mist. Who knew that this short, nebbish guy could kick so much ass? Jones turns 45 today.
