Celebrity Birthday of the Day – October 14

We love character actors here on TBR, and there are few as famous in the world of horror movies as Udo Kier. Kier was born in Cologne, Germany during World War 2, and the hospital where he was born was bombed moments after his birth! He began his acting career as a protege of Rainer Werner Fassbinder and made a name for himself very early on as a horror actor, appearing in Andy Warhol’s Frankenstein, Blood for Dracula, and Suspiria. In the 1990’s, he began acting in North American films, and played roles in My Own Private Idaho, Blade, Barb Wire, Armageddon, and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. He can be seen in the upcoming space Nazi movie Iron Sky, as well as in zillions of other projects. Oh, and Tom Lando met him at the 2011 Fantasia Film Festival! Kier turns 67 today.
