Before finding fame on Oz and Law & Order: SVU, a younger Christopher Meloni (with hair!) appeared in this bizarre commercial for McDonald’s in the 1980s. He plays a brutally honest guy who meets a girl for a blind date and, in order not to raise her expectations, he admits right away that he is not a wealthy man and that he is taking her to McDonald’s for dinner. Of course, the word “McDonald’s” is enough to make this girl smile and decide to go along with him. Um… yeah, I would not recommend trying this trick on a first date unless you happen to look like Christopher Meloni. Now that I think about it, how arrogant is McDonald’s to believe their product is SO good that a woman would accept being taken there on a first date?!
