Hey everybody! It’s “Weird Al” Yankovic’s birthday! Weird Al has been playing accordian since he was a kid. He was valedictorian at his high school, and went to California Polytechnic State University to study architecture. While he was there, he had his own radio show and earned the nickname “Weird Al”. He also recorded his first hit in the bathroom of Caly Poly, a parody of The Knack‘s My Sharona called My Bologna. The success of that song was so great that Al launched a career as a parody musician, comedian and all around awesome guy. And hey, it wouldn’t be “Weird Al”‘s birthday without a song! I like to think he’s singing about himself here:
