I’ve been spending Halloween week showcasing big-name stars who made early appearances in horror films, but I think this theme can also apply to horror TV shows as well… especially when it’s a show as infamously bad as Freddy’s Nightmares. For those of you too young to remember, Freddy Krueger-Mania was running absolutely wild in the 1980s, as Freddy became a bigger pop culture icon that any child murderer would have ever dreamed possible. Somewhat inevitably, a horror anthology TV series called Freddy’s Nightmares was produced. Even though the pilot episode (directed by Tobe Hooper) focused on Freddy Krueger’s origin story, most of the episodes were just random horror stories that didn’t have anything to do with him at all. It got to the point where Freddy’s main role on the show was basically just to do some host segments for each story and make a bunch of bad puns, and the series was eventually cancelled after two seasons. Anyway, here’s an hilarious trailer for a Freddy’s Nightmares episode starring none other than a young Brad Pitt!
