I’m really not sure what to make of this trailer for the horror musical Don’t Go in the Woods. It starts off looking like a typical, maybe even promising kids-go-into-the-woods-and-are-terrorized horror flick, but then the singing starts and, well, the whole thing starts to feel a bit…lackluster. Confusingly, this movie is the directorial debut of actor Vincent D’Onofrio, but it doesn’t strike me as being his cup of tea at all, based on the films he’s chosen to act in in the past. I dunno, overall, this preview just does nothing for me. Am I alone?
Don’t Go in the Woods comes out on VOD on December 26, 2011, with a limited theatrical release beginning in January 2012. I don’t predict a smashing success, however.
