Stephen Merchant does it all! He’s a multi-award-winning writer, director, actor, comedian, and radio presenter perhaps best known for his collaborations with Ricky Gervais. Merchant got his start as Ricky Gervais’ assistant in 1997 when Gervais was working on the radio. Since then, the two of them have collaborated on the British The Office, Extras, The Ricky Gervais Show and An Idiot Abroad. Aside from his work with Gervais, Merchant has played small roles in the films Run, Fatboy, Run, Hot Fuzz, Tooth Fairy, and Hall Pass, and also provided the voice of Wheatley in the way-too-awesome-for-words Portal 2! Merchant turns 37 today.
