Good Morning America recently aired a new trailer for Disney’s upcoming sci-fi action film John Carter, an adaptation of the famous Edgar Rice Burroughs book John Carter of Mars. The film stars Taylor Kitsch, Willem Dafore, Mark Strong, Dominic West, Thomas Haden Church, James Purefoy and Samantha Morton, and…well, I actually think it looks really promising. No, seriously, I think that this looks like a neat Conan the Barbarian meets Dune sorta science fiction movie, and that alone has managed to sell me on John Carter. I’m not ready to declare this the next big sci-fi blockbuster franchise just yet, but I think that this has the potential to be a heapin’ helpin’ of fun. I just hope I’m right.
