I loved the Bioshock games, and was even excited (if a bit suspicious) when a big-screen adaptation of the franchise from director Gore Verbinski was announced. Then Verbinski left the project and Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (director of 28 Weeks Later) took over briefly before leaving as well. Now the project seems to be abandoned, much like the underwater city of Rapture…until now. Some fans working under the banner of Majic Pictures have released this trailer as a sort of visual pitch for a movie adaptation done by fans, for fans. And guess what: it’s awesome. Simple, to the point, and scored with Mack the Knife, just the way a Bioshock trailer should be!
