Before They Were Stars: Kim Cattrall in “The Bastard”

Since I did a “Before They Were Stars” feature on Sarah Jessica Parker yesterday, it’s only fair that I provide the same treatment for her Sex and the City co-stars. One of Kim Cattrall’s earliest acting appearances was in a 1978 TV mini-series entitled The Bastard, a period piece which was based on the best-selling series of novels by John Jakes. You can see her in this trailer, which is quite hilarious for numerous reasons, such as Andrew Stevens’ atrocious French accent, the all-star cast list (Tom Bosley! William Shatner!), and the way the narrator cries out “The Bastard!”.
